BioAmp implements a biochemical approach to identify target biomarkers of resistance directly in patient samples. Our first biochemical test targets ESBLs (markers of antibiotic resistance), where a simple color change indicates the presence of ESBL-producing bacteria. If a patient is suffering from an infection caused by ESBL-producing bacteria, they are at a higher risk of treatment failure and disease progression. This rapid and simple test will empower medical providers with the information they need to treat patients with the right antibiotic at the right time.
